Most physicians are not trained in Anti Aging medicine unless they study the subject on there own. The American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine offers numerous courses and certifications if a physician is truly interested in pursuing this practice and helping their patients with “anti-aging” from a medical perspective.

Aging is not a “disease” which physicians are trained to “treat.” Aging is not a disease at all. It is the natural progression of life.

Allopathic medicine treats disease but rarely searches for the causes of health.

There are Four major categories of interest in the cosmeceutical market:

  • non-bleaching agents
  • antioxidants
  • peptides
  • growth factors

The trend toward introducing natural products considered to be safe is influenced by  the media and consumer interest and this is my preferred method.

Thanks to public interest, the driving force in the cosmeceutical market is to develop safer products that are naturally derived. Some of these naturally derived products have proven to be helpful, whereas more evidence is needed for other products before physicians can consider recommending their use.
